Advantages of Instament

Advantages of Instament over Masonry & Conventional Reinforced Concrete:

  • Cost effective compared to conventional reinforced, tilt up and poured concrete in Styrofoam blocks.
  • At least 50% stronger than similarly reinforced masonry.
  • Shortened overall project schedule since no additional stuccoing is required as it has finish quality.
  • Instament walls start at 4” thick, resulting in a gain of 4” of interior space compared to 8” block construction.
  • Outside walls can vary in thickness from 4” up to 10” depending upon structure and engineering.
  • Ideal for high abuse areas, schools, hospitals & daycares centers.
  • Roof elements are reinforced concrete. No need for steel joists, decking, wood trusses or sheathing. Roof is placed same time as walls. No need to wait for separate roofing subcontractors resulting in reduced project schedule.
  • Roof can be driedin with a highquality roof paint or elastomeric coating. No need for builtup roofing membrane. 3000 PSI up to 5000 PSI depending on design requirements
  • No formwork required. Concrete is sprayed directly onto the steel space frame. No secondary application of stucco is required since the final product is prefinished. Reduced overall project schedule since no formwork or finishing of concrete is required. Any shape or configuration is possible since curved formwork is not required.
  • Instament contains millions of tiny air cells that provide outstanding thermal insulation. Green due to the outstanding thermal Insulation, and elimination of fly ash cinder blocks which have been reported as ecologically damaging, leaching mercury into the environment. Instament can also be used along high traffic highways near housing developments specifically to cut down on highway noise. Instament was tested for fire resistance; it showed signs of weakening only after 12 hours. We tested it for wind resistance at University of Miami and after 200 miles of constant force it started to buckle. (that was part of the wall not tied down to footings; which means the structure built and secured to footings would be much stronger and take about 250 mph sustained). Instament provides a slow heat transfer that results in excellent energy efficiency.
